IDA Ranger of the Year Awards

The inaugural IDA Ranger of the Year Awards celebrate and recognise the outstanding achievements of Rangers across the desert and their commitment to looking after country.

Nominations are now closed. Thank you to everyone who submitted nominations.

Award recipients will be announced at the 2022 IDA Conference during a special evening celebration.

Award categories include:

  • Emerging Male Ranger of the Year – open to any male Ranger aged under 23
  • Emerging Female Ranger of the Year – open to any female Ranger aged under 23
  • Male Ranger of the Year – open to any male Ranger aged 23-44
  • Female Ranger of the Year – open to any female Ranger aged 23-44
  • Senior Male Ranger of the Year – open to any male Ranger aged 45 and over
  • Senior Female Ranger of the Year – open to any female Ranger aged 45 and over
  • Ranger Coordinator of the Year – open to any Ranger or IPA Coordinator currently employed

*For the purposes of these awards, a Ranger is considered any individual paid to perform land management and/or cultural activities under a Ranger program. This includes all permanent, part-time, and casual employment.
