Keeping the desert connected

Watch this two‑minute film celebrating Indigenous rangers who care for one of the largest culturally connected and environmentally significant landscapes on Earth – the Australian desert. 

Told in the voice of IDA People and Cultural Officer Jade, a proud Yilka / Ngaanyatjarra / Narrunga woman, this story honours the deep knowledge, responsibility, and strength of desert peoples who have looked after Country since the beginning of time. 

The film shows how rangers are working together across 2.7 million square kilometres – protecting plants and animals, sharing knowledge across generations, burning Country right way, and keeping culture strong.
