“Learning from our neighbours” - Warnpurru Ranger Team Exchange

5 minute read

The Warnpurru Rangers are an emerging group, eager to learn and develop new skills for their work looking after country. Recognising the value of learning from those who have come before them, the Warnpurru Rangers set out on a journey to connect with the experienced Birriliburu and Warakurna Ranger teams.

The goal of the exchange was to present and participate in peer-to-peer learning workshops and demonstrate activities including burning, animal surveying, track maintenance and visitor management.

Through this hands-on approach to learning with experienced rangers, the Warnpurru Rangers gained confidence and understanding of ranger work, what knowledge they can already apply, and good ways for learning new skills.
