Regional Support Unit

The Regional Support Unit places regionally based expertise across the desert to provide practical support to the strategic growth of ranger teams and organisations to create more resilient and sustainable outcomes.

Regional Support Officers (RSO)and Indigenous Community Liaison Officers (CLOs) work with member and partner priorities. Whether it’s on the job training, developing projects, facilitating local networks, or delivering backbone services, RSO’s play a vital role in keeping the desert connected and strengthening the Indigenous land management sector as it continues to grow.

Trust and respect underpins the work of RSO’s and CLO's with a focus on harnessing the power of the IDA Network, that is, listening, sharing and acting on regional issues that matter most to Indigenous rangers. As always, everything the IDA, RSO’s and CLO's do is Indigenous led and collaborative.
